Our goal
The New Bermondsey Sports Foundation (NBSF), registered charity no. 1141811, was established in May 2011 to provide world class sports facilities for school, community and elite use in south east London and to safeguard those facilities for future generations. The facilities will be located in a new sports centre called Energize within the future New Bermondsey development.
In the meantime, NBSF has established the ‘Thunderdome’, a 24,000 sqft temporary sports facility comprising 2 full size basketball courts and up to 20 table tennis tables for London Thunder Basketball and Fusion Table Tennis Club respectively which receives over 4,500 visits per month.

Through the establishment and funding of the New Bermondsey Sports Foundation, Renewal opened the Thunderdome in 2014. This sports facility is open throughout the week comprises 2 basketball courts and up to 20 table tennis tables and is home to London Thunder Basketball and Fusion Table Tennis Club, two of Lewisham's biggest community sports clubs who are open to new members. The Thunderdome receives 4,500 user visits per month.
